Couric Says Goodbye “Today” by amit

After 15 years as an anchorwoman on NBC’s “The Today Show,” Katie Couric begins her final show this morning. She’ll be honored with a three-hour special depicting her greatest moments. Earlier she told the AP how she’d act before her final appearance, adding, “I’ll do what I’ve always done for 15 years and be myself. I’ll react the way I react.” Kate Couric will helm the “CBS Evening News” starting after this summer.

David Blaine To Go Into The Jungle by dan

Many, many readers have been asking us, “What’s David Blaine going to fail at next?” The answer? “Going into the jungle.” And yes, that’s totally lame. From Blaine’s press release:

The magician plans to be left “alone” in the Tanzanian jungle where 150 people are attacked by wild lions a year with just a TV crew present to film his actions.

Note how he will be “alone” with just a TV crew. Again, totally lame. But then again, things didn’t work out so well for this Chinese guy and he had a camera crew…

Now, Blaine’s no stranger to hurting his body. Remember what he looked liked after he lived in that box for a month or so? Here’s the pic. And, if you’re too lazy to click that, here’s 2 pictures. One is David Blaine and the other is the American Taliban dude, John Walker Lindh. Good luck guessing which is which.

But what Blaine doesn’t realize is that this jungle time adventure isn’t just his average test of physical endurance, it’s a test of a lion’s hunger. How long can they hold out? Now, I presume that Blaine thinks, “Oh, well. I like lions and tigers. I’ll just treat them well and try and not to hurt them and then they’ll be nice to me.” Well, David Blaine, sometimes nice isn’t enough.

“LOST” Toys Announced by amit

Tonight ABC will air the season finale of the hit show “LOST” and what better way to celebrate the closure than with a toy announcement. Todd McFarlane, the man behind the comic book “Spawn” and McFarlane Toys, revealed today that soon millions of fans will be able to own a piece of the show. The toys will be in the form of a 6-inch figure with a corresponding diorama “central to the character’s story.” The first series will comprise of Jack, Kate, Locke, Hurley, Shannon, and Charlie (the first to be sold) in individual models representing scenes from the show. C&V’s holding out for the Hurley figure which supposedly and masterfully represents the pivotal moment in “LOST” when he ate ranch dressing out of a gallon jug. Or maybe the time he got a “yum-yum” from Claire. So, IT office nerds, move your Darth Vader and Superman figurines aside, here’s comes the biggie Hurley. McFarlane toys ended the toy press announcement with “to say that we are VERY excited about this is an understatement.”

Jailhouse Rockin’ Rodriguez by amit

Last month “LOST” actress Michelle Rodriguez spent 5 days in the big house after driving with a Hawaii 5-0 blood alcohol level. After being charged with a DUI, Michelle had a chance to complete hours of community service, but chose sleeping under an overweight lesbian in a cell instead. According to a spokesman from LA’s city attorney and Yahoo.com, Rodriguez will serve another 60 days behind bars proving she really is the hard-core biotch she “played” on the hit ABC series. In addition, the LOST star has to complete 30 hours of community service and attend AA. Guess she took to being killed off pretty rough. M-Rod, C&V would like to provide a few suggestions to keep you busy while in the slammer.
