According to the Chicago Sun Times, Britney Spears is pregnant again. Now, the Chicago Sun Times just believes whatever they hear. They’re not “real” journalism. They’re just small time, has been, nobody-reads-them-anymore fare. And so, the Chicago Sun Times can get away with reporting unvarified truth. We here at Celluloid and Vinyl, however, must go a step further. We have journalistic integrity (and the google cache to prove it). So we had to go and find some sort of sonogram or something to varify Spears’ pregnacy. Click the picture below to learn what Britney and baby #2 look like.

Do you ever wish you were Helen Keller? You will after seeing this 80’s music video from Finnish stars Armi (the girl) and Danny (the douche) as they perform their single “I Wanna Love You Tender.” Memorable lyrics include “If I could touch your hand/This rock would turn to sand/So this is where we stand” and “You love me/You want to love me tender/How can I be sure you’re not pretender?” The Barb nor Bob Dylan could have done a better job. Also, note how Armi and Danny are flanked by autistic dancers in male cheerleading uniforms. For those of you who can’t view the video, imagine a vacuum cleaner on high.

Amit:
Bloc Party - “So Here We Are”
“So Here We Are” is the most down-to-Earth Bloc Party song off their debut album Silent Alarm. This track is driven by high pitched vocals and rushed drum licks, but that’s not what makes it unique. It’s the effect it has. You’re immediately hypnotized by the opening delayed guitar riff which is why I find myself listening to it 5 times in a row while staring at the ceiling. Become mesmerized.
Also check out a remix by Four Tet here.
Dan:
Patty Griffin - “Long Ride Home”
Dan’s been busy at work, so he sent me a broken message of his Song of the Week via carrier pigeon. It reads,
Been listening….to this….album all week…and…this track is my fav.
Nate:
D’Angelo - “Spanish Joint”
There is something about this song that reminds me of Stevie Wonder. But a worldly Stevie. Like a Stevie on smack. There are horns. A tight guitar riff. A danceable bass run. This song has everything you didn’t know you were missing in life. You will listen to it at all times during the day. Good days, bad days. Sunny or cloudy skies. Monday or evening. And then D’Angelo’s voice. Wow. Man’s gotta’ sing, and gee-golly can he. Basically, he was the coolest man on the planet when Voodoo came out. This song is more than enough reason why.

Sprint has announced Blogstar, a wireless blogging platform built exclusively so celebrities could voice their day-to-day lives to the world. Now stars will be able to beat the tabloids and paparazzi to the punch as they upload pics, stories and soon video to their sites thus also ending the need for gossip blogs. Blogstar launches in the midst of falling sales of cell phone ringtones and wallpapers and the rising popularity of MySpace (and the MySpace Top 8’s). Of course there’s a caveat. The service is subscription based and will cost $5/month for curious web surfers to read about their favorite famous “friends.” According to Reuters, “subscribers receive alerts when new posts are uploaded.” Natalie, age nineteen and unimpressed by BlogStar, told C&V, “I don’t want those moth*r fu*king alerts interrupting my shout outs to KiKi and my convos with my boo, Rayonelle.” Allison, 16, on a website by Wilmer Valderrama added, “[she]‘d rather pour battery acid in [her] eyes and eat rusty nails with cold gravy than read his blog.” Despite our market research (two sassy teens), many celebrity sites are going up as we speak and good, bad, or ugly, we wanted to know who’s blogging. So, living up to our highly motivated and somtimes illegal journalistic search for knowledge, C&V hounded Sprint for 3 days till they finally coughed up an exclusive run-down of the top celebrity blog URLs. Be sure to bookmark ‘em all.
