Congrats to Carly, red and Bobby Drakensfeld for coming up with the three best captions to Kyle Cease’s “One Dimple” album art. Many entered (13 including Kyle Cease himself), but only few could win (3). First place goes to Carly. She’ll receive a copy of “One Dimple” and Dane Cook’s “Harmful If Swallowed,” while second and third place winners, red and Bobby, respectively, get a copy of “One Dimple.” Enjoy those albums and thanks for playing.

Second: “‘and later that night’ - in reference to nate’s crazy knife wielding drunken escapade pic you guys put up earlier in the year.” - red
Third: “Sick! She left ‘Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)’ on repeat. How much longer do we have to cuddle?” - Bobby Drakensfeld

We’ve held caption contests for Wolverine, Nate!, Sean Connery, Gwyneth Paltrow, and the esteemed Troy Blendell, but none have ever come close to today’s contest. Why? This time the stakes are higher and the prizes are better. C&V realizes it’s hard to beat previous awards like Looney Tunes ninja stars and Jiff cornbread, but we have. Readers, put on your thinking skull caps and caption the cover art to Kyle Cease’s debut comedy album, “One Dimple.” Read more about “One Dimple” here.
First Prize:
Kyle Cease’s “One Dimple” CD/DVD + Dane Cook’s “Harmful If Swallowed” CD
Second and Third Prize: Kyle Cease’s “One Dimple” CD/DVD
We’ll announce the winner next week (Monday 7/24), so please included your e-mail address when you comment your caption entry (addresses are not revealed to the public). If your caption places, we’ll e-mail you with further details on how to receive your hard-earned reward.
Good Luck.

Amidst the heat at Bonnaroo I was lucky enough to sit down with the front man of Blues Traveler, John Popper, for a one-on-one only C&V could pull off. We laughed, we joked, and John even sang as we talked life, movies, and Jennifer Aniston. Check out a transcript of the interview after the jump or listen to it now.

I had zero expectations for DeVotchKa having only heard of them a few weeks prior Bonnaroo. They were the band responsible for setting the tone and overall drive for my weekend and their energy exploded off like a bottlerocket with report. For those unfamiliar with the Denver-based quartet, DeVotchKa’s melodies and emotional outcries stem from eastern European/Russian music. And its obvious why. They use non-traditional rock insturments such as a bouzouki (small lute-like guitar) and a sousaphone (a type of tuba). Combine all that with lead singer Nick Urata’s vocals and you’ve got a truly unique group with the stage presence (see photo) and skill to usher in the world’s greatest outdoor music festival.
