Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Alexander) admitted to ContactMusic he relaxed on the set of Mission Impossible III by wearing high heels. The stone faced actor says he so obsessed with women’s shoes he sometimes purchases a pair just to look and stare. Meyers added,
“I have a love for women’s shoes, wearing them or just looking at them. I would go out and buy a fantastic pair of shoes for nobody - just to own them. If I wasn’t an actor I’d probably design women’s shoes.”
Designing women’s shoes? Not too strait there Johnathan. C&V knew Meyers was a little off after Nicole noticed he looks frighteningly like Uma Thurman. Then, we found a startling photo from the set of Match Point.

Two more Star Wars tidbits today. First, everyone’s favorite video swapping service, YouTube, has a 5 minute clip of a deleted scene from the original (4th) Star Wars. The cut clip involves an exchange between Luke Skywalker and his pal Briggs. Note in the clip the “J5″ robot from the Wayan’s brothers movie Blankman making its acting debut and Luke’s fruity safari hat. Next, on September 12th George Lucas will re-release the original Star Wars trilogy (IV-VI) in their original format as seen in their 1977, 1980, and 1983 debuts. The DVD box set will also include a second disc per movie of the “Special Edition” version with CGI effects released back in 2004. The box set is in limited edition and will make its way to the Disney Vault forever as of December 31st.

George Lucas has joined the ranks of Chewbacca and Ken to become the next anatomically incorrect action figure to adorn the toy stores. Amazingly he’s traded in his signature flannel shirt and Star Wars Pez/beer belly for a storm trooper uniform and an over-sized cod-piece. According to MSNBC, Hasbro, the toy company behind the figure, decided to plasticize Lucas because he’s “the greatest character in the universe.” The limited edition George doll is only available to contestants participating in Hasbro’s “Ultimate Galactic Hunt” contest. The winners/losers will receive the toy after showing proof of purchase for 5 vintage “Star Wars” figures and proof of virginity.

Disney was kind enough to upload the full theatrical trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest to YouTube and send us a link. The trailer debuted yesterday, the unofficial first day of the summer movies, to members of the press and, of course, C&V. Dead Man’s Chest looks like one helluva follow-up to the sleeper success of the original movie based on a Disney ride.
That’s right. A studio exec at Disney thought back in 2001, “let’s make a movie based on a ride in the park” and after Vagrants of TeaCup Land was nixed, a movie based on animatronic pirates got the green light. Three years later, back-to-back sequels were filmed a la Lord of the Rings and The Matrix trilogies with the first to open July 7th. So, pull up your chairs around the office computer and enjoy the full trailer for Chest (Disney’s shorthand title).
