Driving Ron Weasley
by amit

Rupert Grint, the red head whiner who’s been in every single Harry Potter to date, has removed his typecast to star in the upcoming film Driving Lessons. The sixteen year old awkward actor told MTV he’s “learning to drive in real life. So part of the reason [he] signed up for [Driving Lessons] was that [he] was looking forward to driving a car.” The other part? He’s been Ron Weasley since 2001. For the flick no one will see, Rup shot a scene that’s been missing in every single one of his movies. An on-screen kiss. Sadly, no magic occurred. Director Jeremy Brock had to stop the still pre-pubescent goof’s “giggle fits” during his first silver screen smooch. Grint said the scene was “nerve-wracking…because everyone [was] watching [and girls have cooties].” Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opens July 13, 2007.

Wes Anderson Does American Express
by dan

Wes Anderson recently joined the American Express hocking likes of M. Night Shizermalan and Ellen Degeneres. Previously, the commercial could only be seen in theaters… until one fateful day (yesterday) when Celluloid And Vinyl liberated the video for the masses in a stunning raid. See below.

Dakota, Samoas, Tagalongs, And Do-Si-Dos
by candv

Many of our readers may not know this, but Dakota Fanning is a Girl Scout. As a scout, she’s learned the importance of caring, kindness, and giving. It turns out the fetus turned child phenom is such a giving gal that she invited several hundred scouts to a free movie. What appeared to be an act of altruism turned into outright disdain when fellow brownies discovered they were seeing Dreamer starring none other than Dakota Fanning. Paparazzi weren’t invited to the event, but nine year old Susie Greenberg snapped some shots of scorn from the red carpet to complete requirement #6 of the Photography merit badge. Thankfully, Susie decided to share some of the gems.

Only a guardrail separates Dakota from the Thin Mint-eating Troll (far right).

In more pain after hearing “I’m in this movie!”, concussion victim Maria (left) raises her hand for a new seat.

Dakota Monkeys Around
by candv

In the epic interview between Dakota Fanning and the 17 year-old Japanese boy with chronic arm thrashing syndrome, Fanning was slapped with the hardest question of her career to date, “Do you like boys?” Her interviewer never learned the answer. But photographers at ShoWest did. It’s chimpanzees! Dakota’s alleged fetish for all things simian prompted her to bring a chimp nicknamed “Robin Williams” to the awards show. That’s when the paparazzi flashbulbs ignited and the gossip rags exploded. Does Robin care about more than just looks? Why is Dakota’s date wearing red Huggies Pull-Ups? Can he dance? C&V has the answers.

Dakota catches of whiff of what Robin’s been throwing.

First date = first base

“Robin, I’m up here.”

Goof or Cover Up? [Updated x2]
by candv

Okay. We officially have no idea what’s going on over at CNN or with Dakota Fanning… They’ve taken the article down and we don’t know why. We don’t know Dakota’s state. The fact of the matter is we have no idea exactly what’s going on. We don’t know anything because CNN won’t post what’s going on or their reasons for removing the article. Maybe she’s in the hospital and things have gone from dire to hopeful. Maybe CNN clamored to be first, but in their haste posted bogus details. Or maybe Dakota has passed away and for some reason her family or the movie studios or the scientologists or someone doesn’t want the news to break just yet. We. Don’t. Know.

Did anyone happen to get a screenshot of the article when it was on CNN? All we have is the article’s photo (see below). Please email us at editor [at] CelluloidandVinyl [dot] com if you can be of assistance.

UPDATE: We got a screenshot of the article. You can see it Here. (Thanks Neal!)

UPDATE #2: We have several updates and follow-ups HERE.
